The wonderful beaches of Pelion attract thousands of tourists every summer. The coastal villages become favourite spots of people looking for some peace and relaxation. The coastline of Pelion stretches along the Aegean Sea and the Pagasitic Gulf. If you are staying at any Pelion hotel near the coast, then you will have the opportunity to visit some amazing, crystal beaches.
The most famous beach of this area is Kala Nera. The beach is bordered with dense green vegetation which provides a natural shade in the hot summer months. The sandy beaches with crystal clear waters have been awarded the blue flag. There are plenty of accommodation facilities for the tourists and visitors near the beach. There are also endless rows of cafes, restaurants, taverns, bars catering to the hungry and thirsty visitors.
There is another large beach in the area located along the coast of the Aegean Sea. This is Agios Ioannis beach, which has good tourist infrastructure. This long sandy beach is covered with umbrellas and loungers. The blue sea waters are clean and after a long nice swim, you can head for the bars and cafes where cool refreshing drinks are served.
Milopotamos, near Tsagarada village, is a beach of exceptional beauty. A sandy coast with crystal water is located under some huge rocks. To go to Milopotamos, you have to climb down a paved path. The area has no tourism amenities. Horefto beach also gets very popular in summer. It is long, sandy, clean and very close to picturesque traditional villages.
