Pelion is a traditional mountainous area that doesn’t offer many shopping opportunities. Chances to shop on Pelion are limited, except for some small stores, gift shops and open markets along the streets.
On Pelion, you will not notice the usual busy and noise atmosphere of large shopping centres. Instead, you will see tiny, cozy stores in narrow paved paths selling antiques, souvenirs, handmade jewelry and homemade traditional goods. Best thing to buy is the famous spoon sweets of the area, made with apples, chestnuts, walnuts and many other fruits. Another nice item to buy is a chaplet for men. Most chaplets on Pelion are handmade and have different colours and designs. Playing the chaplet is relaxing pastime for many people.
